
Copycat Starbucks Iced Brown Sugar Matcha Latte
Earthy matcha, creamy milk, and a deep brown sugar syrup poured over ice. It is a sweet, cozy-tasting iced latte you can make in five minutes with a quick homemade syrup.

Make the syrup. Combine the brown sugar, water, and cinnamon in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until dissolved, simmer 2 minutes, then cool for 5 minutes. You will have extra, so keep it in a jar.

Sift the matcha into a small bowl. Add the hot water and whisk in a zigzag motion until completely smooth with no clumps.

Stir 2 tbsp of the brown sugar syrup into the matcha.

Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour in the milk, then slowly pour the sweetened matcha over the top.

Stir before drinking. Add more syrup if you want it sweeter.

Water that is boiling makes matcha bitter, so let it sit for a minute off the boil before using. The brown sugar syrup keeps 2 weeks in the fridge and is great in coffee too. Whisking the matcha with a small amount of water first prevents clumps. This drink contains caffeine.
